Avis de décès - Lucie Laquerre

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Lucie Laquerre, wife of the late German Garcia, on September 5, 2026, at the University of Montreal Hospital Centre (CHUM).

She is survived by her children, Mélissa Garcia, Sylvain Garcia (Valérie), and Rafael Garcia-Laquerre (Marianne), as well as her two cherished grandchildren, Daphné and Félix. She also leaves behind her siblings, Anne-Marie (Jocelyn), André (Carole), Jacinthe (Pierre), Gilbert (Jocelyne), Martine, and Jean-François, along with many relatives and friends who will remember her as a warm, welcoming, generous, and humble person who was a great listener and showed admirable resilience in her final days.

A time of reflection will be held on September 26, 2026, between 1:30 p.m. and 4:00 p.m., at the Forêt de la Seconde Vie located at 835 chemin de l’Achigan Est, in Sainte-Sophie. A tribute ceremony will take place from 1:30 p.m. to 2:15 p.m.

For this occasion, the family has chosen to plant a Ginkgo Biloba, selected by Lucie herself, as a symbol of peace and living memory. This tree will carry her presence and will grow as a lasting testament to her love and strength.

The Forêt de la Seconde Vie is an eco-friendly forest cemetery located in the heart of nature; as such, we invite our visitors to dress and wear footwear appropriate for the weather forecast on the day of the event.

What is the Second Life Forest?

Take root in your lifetime | Second Life Forest

Ecoforest cemetery

The Forest of the Second Life is a Ecoforest cemetery; an alternative solution to traditional funeral homes that allows you to contribute to the creation of forests, in tribute to the memory of your loved ones and for the benefit of future generations.

Unique concept in Quebec

We are up to date The only location in Quebec, among all those who have the necessary authorizations for the burial of the ashes, to have added to our project a forest conservation easement to ensure, forever, the preservation and protection of the forest.

Future generations

Our alternative funeral services allow you to pay tribute to your deceased by allowing them to dedicate their second life to the benefit of the next generations. The reforestation initiative The Second Life Forest makes it possible to capture up to 175 tons of carbon from the atmosphere each year.
