The ecological funeral concept
Because of its significant contribution to the environment, La Forêt de la Seconde Vie is positioned as a unique concept that is in the process of revolutionizing the funeral industry.
Honor your deceased in kind
Our objective is to acquire other locations to make this ecological option accessible to all Quebecers.
The meaning of the forest and the trees in connection with their attachment to the land well represents our vision of rootedness.

Virtual visit
Can't you visit in person? No worries, we make the experience accessible remotely. Discover our cemetery virtually through a 360 degree view and explore each space as if you were there. With our augmented reality tools, plan your funeral ceremonies with confidence, wherever you are.
We want to offer families a place where it will be possible to create beautiful moments of life and, eventually, to see them metamorphose into sweet memories.
This is a new way of doing and thinking that is natural, simple, and necessary for generations to come.

CConcept developed in collaboration with a team of natural land planners including biologist, forest engineer, specialist in climate change and geographer from the Institute of Territories.
This conservation organization produced a development concept integrating a forest management component as well as strategic analyses that allowed us to draw up a complete portrait of the site, in particular of the fauna and its habitats, flora, recreational potentials and future trends in land protection.
We implemented this plan in such a way as to allow the creation of an exceptional forest environment that contributes, in a context of climate change and the collapse of global biodiversity, to reverse these major upheavals for the benefit of future generations. At the end of this vast ecosocial reforestation project, the new ecosystems created will constitute magnificent environments for visitors and unique for wildlife.
To date, we are the only location in Quebec, among all those who have the necessary authorizations for the burial of ashes, to have added a forest conservation easement to our project to ensure, forever, the preservation and protection of the forest.
A natural place exceptional for a loved one
Each forest zone has species carefully selected according to the characteristics of the area in question (soil type, location, sunshine, etc.), but also in order to create different environments to suit a variety of personalities. Choose the area and tree species that best symbolize the person who will put down roots.

Why become
a tree?
Studies show that a tree absorbs an average of 25 kg of CO2 per year. Based on this data, we can say that the rooting of 7000 trees will make it possible to capture nearly 175 tons of carbon annually thanks to the reforestation of our first site.

Let's take root and participate collectively in this ecological success!
The benefits of tree planting:
oxygen production;
air purification;
combating soil erosion and improving water quality;
regulation of extreme temperature differences;
protection against heat and rain;
wind and noise protection.
Figures Who are talking
While the number of deaths will exceed the number of births in Quebec in 20 years, the funeral industry is preparing to welcome a growing clientele.
Each year, for the past five years, the number of deaths has remained around 70,000, but it will increase significantly over the coming decades as the population ages.
According to demographic trends, Quebec will pass the symbolic milestone of 100,000 annual deaths in 2043.
Each of our roots protects an area of 196 square feet (14'X14').
In the event that, at that moment, all the future deceased would opt to take root at the foot of a tree in a commemorative concession in one of our cemeteries, this would allow the annual planting of 100,000 trees as well as the long-term protection of more than 19 million square feet of forest.
This is a great legacy that will be beneficial for future generations, but also a great goal to achieve as a community.
