Several fruit trees are often associated with spring or summer, but the pleasant mountain ash, also called mountain ash, was used to predict the severity of winters. An old North American tradition says that grandmothers climbed the mountain in autumn to see the size of the fruit clusters. If these were provided, it heralded the arrival of an arduous winter. Pleasant mountain ash can help us deal with the days to come and give us hope.
The pleasant mountain ash is originally rooted in North America where it is one of the large shrubs that are very abundant in Quebec. It can have a slightly exotic look because of its leaves composed of 11 to 15 leaflets*. It forms beautiful white flowers as well as clusters of small red berries that are very persistent and appreciated by wildlife. It has bark that is slightly sheared at maturity and is brown in color and sprinkled with lighter lenticels.
This tree represents apprehension and persistence.
